Learning Support Assistant job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Ormiston Denes Academy. We are seeking a passionate and student focused individual to join our well established, experienced team and are looking for child-centred individuals who can support learning within classrooms, work one to one with targeted students and run interventions to help learners with special educational needs to thrive.

The successful candidate will be committed to ensuring the removal of barriers to learning in the classroom environment, whilst also supporting with students' social and emotional wellbeing.

This role is for a fixed term period of one year.

About You

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (C and above)
  • Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures relevant to child protection and health and safety.
  • Some experience of working with children in an educational setting and supporting them with their learning and behaviour would be advantageous, but not essential, as full training will be given.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships quickly with students and staff.
  • Excellent ICT and keyboard skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and equality of opportunity as well as inclusion.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the job description.
