Learning Support Assistant job summary

John Wycliffe Primary School, part of Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust, are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our professional, friendly and hard working team.

This vacancy is for the right candidate to become a member of our dedicated team of support staff. The role requires a caring and considerate individual to work alongside the class teachers to offer personalised support for a small number of children with additional learning needs. JWPS is a community school at the heart of Lutterworth, a growing market town in rural Leicestershire. As the town is growing, so is our school and over the last few years have invested over £1.1million in the site to provide more pupil places and specialist SEN support for pupils from across Leicestershire. Our school has a long tradition of nurture, placing the wellbeing of our children at the heart of all we do. When it comes to teaching and learning, we have a very simple ethos: Be Brilliant!

Our last Ofsted, in 2023, identified the school as Good in all areas, commenting

“Pupils are happy to attend John Wycliffe Primary School. It is an inclusive school. Pupils readily work and play together. The school values encourage all pupils to aspire to ‘be brilliant’. Teachers have high expectations for what pupils can achieve. Pupils try hard in lessons. They take pride in their achievements. Pupils enjoy the rewards they get when they do well. In lessons, pupils behave well. Disruptions to learning are very rare. Classrooms and corridors are calm. “

If you are looking for the next step, even the first step, into a career in education and want to work in an environment that inspires you to bring your brilliance to every lesson, every day then this is the role for you. We would encourage you to read the details of our approach, our supportive Trust and our offer to you set out in this pack and, when you are ready to apply, phone into school so we can arrange a tour to introduce you to our team and our children.

Applications from candidates with a love of children, a knowledge and understanding of their development and a commitment to creative child centred learning are welcomed.
