What skills and experience we're looking for
This is an incredibly rewarding role where you will work alongside a highly passionate team to ensure children are cared for, inspired, and challenged. Our ideal candidate will have a Level 3 qualification; however, it is essential that the successful candidate holds a full and relevant qualification accepted by the Department for Education (DfE). Experience of supporting and nurturing the needs of all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs would be an advantage, and you will be committed to making a profound difference to the lives of our most disadvantaged children.
Our Trust is dedicated to building an authentic workforce, so if you are excited about this role but your past experience looks a little different to what we’ve identified, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may just be the perfect candidate!
We are looking for someone who is inspired by our Trust mission and can empower our children with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to flourish. We are proud that we are a single organisation with a shared responsibility for all children, and one where you will feel professionally nourished through our extensive development practice and strong wellbeing offer.
What the school offers its staff
Dunsford Community Academy lies within the heart of the local community, just a 25-minute drive from both Exeter and Newton Abbot on the edge of the stunning Dartmoor National Park. As a smaller school there is a real sense of community; we value the incredible relationships we have with our families and aim to ensure that all our children have the best start in life and can flourish in all they do.
We are proud of our rich and vibrant curriculum that stimulates children’s imaginations and creative thinking. We empower children with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to flourish, removing barriers to learning so every child, even the most vulnerable, can achieve their full potential.
Our provision outdoors is exceptional we use it to its fullest advantage with swimming lessons from reception each week during the summer, to Forest school all year round from Nursery. Pupils are proud and excited to play and learn here.
We can offer you:
- The opportunity to make a profound different to children’s lives
- A culture that takes work-life balance extremely seriously for all its colleagues
