Learning Support Assistant (Hearing Impairment) job summary

Coombe Girls’ School and Sixth Form is a comprehensive girls’ state secondary school, with a co-educational Sixth Form. We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to support students with hearing impairment and other SEND needs to access learning, develop independence and achieve possible outcomes within the classroom and wider school environment. This role will be 36 hours per week, term time only.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be confident supporting pupils with hearing impairment and wider SEND needs
  • Be able to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and access the curriculum effectively
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the Teacher of the Deaf, SENDCo and other professionals
  • Be committed to inclusive, high-quality teaching and learning within the classroom
  • Play a full and active role in the life of the school
