Learning Support Assistant - Inclusion Hub -

1 year fixed term, with potential for extension

Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Salary: £17,686-£19,860 per annum, pro rata (30 hours p/w) (full-time equivalent: £25,319-£27,926), depending on hours worked and experience

Hours: Term-time only (38 weeks), up to 30 hours per week, 08:45-15:30 (includes a 45 minute unpaid break). Start and finish times can be flexible if required.

Contract: Fixed Term until 31 August 2027

We are looking for a compassionate, proactive Learning Support Assistant to work alongside our Specialist Teacher in the Inclusion Hub. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils who benefit from a more personalised, nurturing approach to learning.

Role Description: You will need to

  • Support adaptive teaching delivered by the Specialist Teacher

  • Work with individuals and small groups

  • Build positive relationships that support emotional regulation and confidence

  • Help deliver targeted interventions

  • Strengthen links between the Hub and mainstream classrooms

Person Specification (Requirements):

Essential

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.

  • Previous experience working with children.

  • Ability to work on your own initiative.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and adults.

  • Ability to use relevant technology/equipment.

  • A positive, flexible, team‑focused attitude.

  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to complete a new one.

Desirable / Highly Desirable

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Early Years Practitioner qualification.

  • Recent school‑based references (within the last 2 years).
