Learning Support Assistant (Intervention) job summary

We are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (Intervention) on a fixed term contract until 31.08.22, term time only (actual salary £15,387.27), to work with our students to deliver Expert Reader/Accelerated Reader interventions. The successful candidate would be someone who:
Is patient, calm and relaxed with an enthusiastic approach to learning
Is confident in running stimulating, fun and educational activities with children
Can build and encourage confidence in children, allowing them to lead their own learning when appropriate
Commitment to safeguarding

This role is considered exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013, 2020 and 2023. The St Leonards Academy is a secondary school for 11 to 16-year olds in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex. We have a clear vision of what creates successful learners and how to implement it. We are one of twenty TEEP Ambassador schools in the UK. We offer 300 student places each year and have a total capacity of 1500. We also host a special facility for up to 20 young people with physical disabilities and severe autism.
