Welcome to Ivy Chimneys Primary School. We are very proud of the encouragement, support and care that are known as the central features of our school community. Our school, and the Trust we belong to, prioritise the mental health and wellbeing of our workforce and our children.

Ivy Chimneys Primary School is located in Epping. The school has a capacity for 315 children and is usually full. We pride ourselves in providing the best possible opportunities for our pupils and families - we want children to thrive personally and academically in our setting.

Through the curriculum, we seek to create the richest learning opportunities to develop children’s knowledge and skills - those that inspire them to answer and ask questions about the world they live in. Our staff team has high expectations of our learners and a belief that learning in the classroom should be limitless for all children.

At Ivy Chimneys, there is a strong focus on personal development. Our ambitions for children are described through the 8 strands of the ‘Becoming Me’ Personal Development Framework - visit our website if you would like to find out more.

We strongly encourage prospective candidates to visit our school in person before applying for a role.

Our Trust

We are part of The Epping Forest Schools Partnership Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust of fifteen Primary and one Special School all based in the Epping Forest District. Along with our SCITT (School-Centred Initial Teacher Training), School Improvement Team, Well-being Service and Resourced Provisions based in three of our schools, we are a leading educational organisation in Epping Forest.

EFSPT was formed in 2018 from a consortium of schools that had worked together for over 20 years, and are committed to collaborative working to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children and school communities. The schools maintain their identities but work in a highly collaborative manner supported by a small but very experienced Central Team.

Our Mission is to provide an exceptional education that is inclusive and challenging for all and which provides wider opportunities for the children within the EFSPT to flourish.

EFSPT is committed to Trauma Perceptive Practice; the Essex approach to understanding behaviour and supporting emotional well-being. Being trauma-perceptive means that through our values, policies and practice, we are able to effectively support the children, families and communities in our Trust, creating spaces of belonging and safety that enable everyone to flourish, become resilient and learn.

We are an Equal Opportunities employer and we are committed to safeguarding our schools’ communities. The appointment will therefore be subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS checks.
