Learning Support Assistant job summary
Fixed term until 31st August 2027. 30 hours per week, 38.4 weeks per year
We are seeking to recruit an inspiring, motivated and highly enthusiastic individual to encourage learning and who understands the importance of building confidence in order to access and improve learning across all levels. Experience of working with SEN would be an advantage; as too would experience of working with young people who require intimate care and mobility support. However, an understanding of SEN together with patience, good humour and a willingness to learn are equally important.
The successful candidate will:
have experience of working with young people;
have an understanding and experience of how young people learn and develop;
be able to take the initiative and adapt strategies in order to work towards a successful outcome;
have experience of working with young people who have a physical disability and require mobility support and some intimate care support;
be able to support all students to access the curriculum;
be able to work as part of a team;
be creative, flexible and have a positive outlook

Totnes Art Foundation Course at KEVICC is set in its own dedicated buildings at the Kennicott 6th Form Centre and is a small, intimate and intense full-time Pearson BTEC level 4 course of 20-30 students each year.
