Learning Support Assistant job summary

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will:

  • Build trusting relationships by encouraging and supporting pupils in a respectful, non-judgmental manner

  • Work with students in class, small groups, and on a one-to-one basis

  • Support pupils with a wide range of SEND needs, including Cognition and Learning, Communication and Interaction, Physical and Sensory Needs, and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)

  • Provide tailored support, from mobility and access to resources, to helping students regulate emotions and engage with learning

We would be particularly interested in your application if you:

  • Understand how children develop, think and learn

  • Create safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments

  • Can collaborate with teachers and the SENCo to implement Learning Plans

  • Are passionate about helping every student achieve beyond expectations

  • Are confident with IT and recognise the role of technology in learning

  • Have strong communication skills and can provide feedback to staff and parents/carers

  • Are committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing

  • Have high aspirations for all pupils and determination to see them succeed

  • Can nurture pupils’ enjoyment of school and life

  • Bring enthusiasm, positivity, and a good sense of humour
