Job summary

At Ludlow Junior School, we work hard to make sure that we are meeting the needs of all of our pupils, inside and outside of the classroom, whatever their background, ability or interests. Therefore, we are looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) who is enthusiastic, dynamic and energetic.

Working closely with class teachers and year leaders within a supportive team, you will develop learning for all children as our LSAs work with all of the children, not only those with identified special educational needs.

Our morning vacancy may require a high level of 1-2-1 teaching and support for specific pupils with their academic progress, communication, and social emotional behaviour difficulties. Some children will have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and you will be teaching and supporting flexibly within a class environment. Additionally, you might work with small groups or individuals outside the classroom and sometimes support in the playground environment.

Our afternoon vacancy will be working in the classroom with focussed pupils, or outside the classroom in small intervention groups. We are looking for someone who can help to deliver high quality teaching and support to our pupils whose education has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, with a focus on reading. In return, we will provide training, coaching and on-going support under the National Tutoring Programme framework.
