Make a real difference every day

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive SEND team and play a vital role in enabling students to thrive—academically, socially and emotionally.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with young people, including those with complex needs, supporting their learning, independence and inclusion within a high-achieving school community.

About the role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide targeted support to students with SEND, both in the classroom and through small group or 1:1 interventions
  • Work alongside teachers to support learning, progress and engagement
  • Encourage independence, confidence and inclusion for all learners
  • Help develop and implement tailored provision and support plans
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and key adult

You may also have the opportunity to deliver interventions, support individual programmes, or act as a key worker for named students.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with young people at either primary and/or secondary school
  • Is calm, organised and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is patient, resilient and genuinely committed to supporting students’ wellbeing and progress
  • Holds (or is willing to develop) a good understanding of SEND and inclusive practice

A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in English and maths is essential.

Experience of supporting students with autism or additional needs would be an advantage.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is essential.

Why join us?

  • A welcoming, inclusive and high-performing school environment
  • A strong commitment to professional development and SEND training
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to students’ lives every day
  • A supportive team and leadership that values your contribution
