What skills and experience we're looking for

The post holder will possess effective communication skills and will interact professionally with children and our staff team to ensure that children get the most out of provided learning activities and play, both independently and with their peers. We are looking for candidates with a can-do attitude who show a good understanding of young people and can work with students who may respond to particular approaches to engage them successfully. Some children may require personal care and/or playtime support, to help them develop good relationships with other children and positive play skills.

The successful applicant will be passionate about working with children who have additional needs and helping them to access their learning successfully. They will show willingness to work in partnership with teachers, LSAs and other professionals to enable children to communicate effectively, manage their emotional successfully and develop independence. They will need to work under the direction of the class teacher/s and SENCo but must demonstrate that they can work on their own initiative to get the best from the children.
