Learning Support Assistant job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support children including those with SEND.

You will relish the chance to work in a friendly and well-respected one-form entry primary school for children in Nursery to Year 6. Our staff are dedicated to serving a diverse community who in return are very supportive of the school. We provide a broad based and innovative curriculum, blending the essential basic skills in literacy and numeracy with a wider curriculum based around Learning Enquiries.

Our motto is ‘A Community of Learners’ which reflects the importance we give to providing learning opportunities for staff as well as children.

The role will involve supporting classes or individual children on a 1:1 basis. These children may have EHC plans which reflect their needs, which may include social or communication needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning difficulties or physical disabilities.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience of working in Early Years
Is an excellent role model
Is empathetic and can build trust and rapport with students, staff and parents
Has a passion for working with children and is kind, caring and flexible.
Is willing to support and implement the pupil's personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene and welfare matters. The pupils may also need assistance to access different areas of the academy
Is interested in developing their skills in supporting children with different educational, physical and social needs
Has experience of working with or caring for children between the ages of 3 and 11.
