About the role 

We’re seeking a fantastic Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to become part of our team at Northfield Primary School.   As a Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students learning and attending to pupil’s personal needs, to support teaching and learning in the classroom and across the school.  


To be successful in your application, you must demonstrate experience of working with, or caring for, children or young people of a relevant age. You must have the ability to work as an effective team member and communicate effectively with young people and adults.  


Some of your key duties will include:  


  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff to enhance the development and education of pupils.  
  • Supporting the needs of individual pupils, or small groups of pupils, as directed by teaching staff.  
  • Being directed to meet the specific needs of individual pupils, in line with their statement of Special Educational Needs.  
  • Monitoring the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking their work to ensure a constructive environment and dealing with situations arising in accordance with school policies and procedures. 

 

The role is 33 hours per week, term time plus two days, permanent contract, equating to 192 working days per annum.
