Hours: 32.5 hours/week (including break duties)
Contract: Term-time (39 weeks) + 5 inset days

Purpose of the Role

To support pupils with additional learning needs, in class and small groups, ensuring they can access the curriculum meaningfully and thrive as confident, resilient learners.

Key Responsibilities

Learning Support

• Assist teachers to deliver inclusive, meaningful learning experiences.

• Support learners individually or in small groups, especially those with SEND.

• Help prepare resources and adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs.

• Monitor, record, and communicate pupil progress and behaviour within a reflective framework.

• Maintain a respectful, positive classroom presence, modelling our code of conduct.

Safeguarding & Professional Conduct

• Follow school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, equality, and cohesion.

• Report any concerns promptly and professionally.

• Engage in training opportunities, including SEND, first aid, and Prevent.

Embedding Values & Ethos

• Foster respectful relationships with children, staff, families, and outside agencies.

• Promote the British Values agenda through everyday practice.

• Encourage pupil voice via eco, sports, and ethos councils.

• Contribute to nurturing spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development.

Person Specification

Essential	Desirable
Experience working with primary-aged children, especially SEND	experience
Strong communication and team-working skills	Formal coaching or playwork qualification
Patience, resilience, empathy, and adaptability	First Aid / Safeguarding training
Understanding of inclusive practice	Knowledge of British Values implementation
Commitment to safeguarding and high professional standards	Experience with pupil leadership initiatives
