Learning Support Assistant - Student Wellbeing job summary
ABOUT THIS ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Ormiston Denes Academy. We are seeking a passionate and student focused individual to support the continuing promotion of the importance of attendance at school and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students who are absent from school, by undertaking first day calling and daily ‘safe and well’ checks.
The successful candidate will be committed to ensuring the wellbeing of students and be able to build positive relationships with students and their families, whilst promoting the importance of attendance at school to ensure student wellbeing and outcomes.
This role is fixed term for a period of one year and is based on working 10 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (school term time plus 1 week).

ABOUT YOU
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (C and above)
- Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures relevant to child protection and health and safety.
- Some experience of working with children in an educational setting and supporting them with their learning/behaviour.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships quickly with students and their families.
- Excellent ICT and keyboard skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and equality of opportunity as well as inclusion.
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the job description.
- A PCV D1 licence to allow you to drive a minibus is desirable, but not essential.
- Willingness to use own vehicle to conduct ‘safe and well’ checks.
