Are you interested in teaching? Do you want classroom experience before applying to take it further? Have you got skills to share with the next generation? Can you be creative and show initiative?

Then take a look at what we have to offer you…

We are seeking to recruit a class based KS2 Learning Support Assistant at The Grove Primary School, based in the beautiful market town of Melton Mowbray. The working hours will be 32.50 hours per week, (8:30am – 3:30pm), Monday - Friday, term time only plus the 5 inset days (39 weeks) on a permanent basis.

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated learning support assistant who will work as an assistant in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.

We are looking for someone who is reflective and skilled and can motivate and encourage children as required. You might want to consider this as a steppingstone into teaching and apply to train within our Academy Trust or you might want to develop your role across our schools in the future.

You will be required to provide support for teaching and learning activities. This may include providing general support for whole class learning activities or supporting individuals or small groups of pupils to reinforce new skills or knowledge.

Experience of working with children with SEN and knowledge of Child Protection and Health and Safety policies are essential.

It would be desirable that you have an NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent or some experience of working with children. Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English are essential, or currently working towards. Along with good interpersonal skills, you will be emphatic with children and young people, and be able to work effectively as part of a whole school staff team.
