What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our team and contribute to the academic and personal development of our students.
Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students with varying educational needs, working closely with teachers and the SEN (Special Educational Needs) team to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Your role will involve assisting students in their academic progress, personal development, and social integration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with additional needs.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the needs of students.
• Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SEN team.
• Support students in developing independent learning and social skills.
• Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom management and organization.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
• Deal with behavioural and special needs issues in conjunction with the teacher
• Help implement lesson plans
• Provide feedback to pupils without reference to the teacher
• Take small class or small group of pupils for defined activities e.g. reading, in the presence of a class teacher
• Contribute with teacher to lesson contents and aims
• Support and work with teacher in testing/assessment

much effect behaviour has on staff time.
