Whitefriars Church of England Primary Academy are looking for a learning Support assistant to join their welcoming team.

As a learning support assistant, your role will primarily focus on providing 1:1 and group support for children with SEND across a year group. You will work closely with the classroom teachers and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to ensure that students receive the appropriate assistance to access the curriculum and make progress.

The exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate at interview but will fall within our academy hours of Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with children, preferably within a school environment.
  • Shows a genuine interest in supporting children with SEND and a passion for making a difference in their lives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, calm, and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt.
  • A willingness to continue learning and developing skills in supporting SEND students.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning or similar.
