Learning support assistant job summary

We would like to invite applications for the role of learning support assistant to support specific students for the duration of funds provided specially for this purpose. The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about providing support for students in the mainstream classroom. You will be patient, calm but assertive with good empathy skills. This role will also cover attending to students’ personal needs including care and health matters, toileting and mobility. Full time / job share would be considered providing the needs of students can be met 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year Full time / job share would be considered providing the needs of students can be met

William de Ferrers School is based in the centre of South Woodham Ferrers, a riverside town on the north bank of the River Crouch. The school is approximately 14 miles from the city of Chelmsford, with good rail links to London Liverpool Street.

The school is housed in a purpose built community complex which is unique in Essex, benefiting from excellent accommodation and extensive grounds.

The school was rated 'good' by Ofsted in December 2018.

William de Ferrers currently has a seven form entry with the main pastoral organisation based on a year system. Great importance is attached to high standards of conduct, dress, attitude and work. A large percentage of students stay on to join the sixth form and year 12 and 13 students are an integral part of the whole school, they make a valuable contribution to the life of the school supporting younger students across a wide range of activities.
