As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you’ll play a vital role in helping students succeed both academically and personally. Working closely with class teachers and senior staff, you’ll support pupils across a wide age range, helping them access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities:

Student Support

  • Deliver tailored in-class and intervention support under teacher guidance.
  • Provide feedback to help students track progress and grow in confidence.
  • Promote student well-being both in and beyond the classroom.

Learning Environment

  • Maintain a purposeful, engaging learning space.
  • Set up and manage equipment and materials safely and effectively.
  • Support with creative classroom and academy displays.

Teaching & Curriculum Support

  • Assist in preparing lesson resources and organising activities.
  • Help track student progress, manage records, and support test administration.
  • Contribute to data gathering and reporting.

Pastoral & Behavioural Support

  • Foster a respectful, inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and consistent routines.
  • Support students during enrichment, breaks, and as a form tutor.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff.
  • Communicate with families and external partners when needed.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and development activities.

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Relevant experience in a classroom or learning support role.
  • Confidence supporting students with SEN, EAL, or complex needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organised, adaptable, and committed to helping every student thrive.
  • Willingness to uphold the values and ethos of Oasis Academy Wintringham.
