Ifield Community College is looking to appoint part time Learning Support Assistants to work with teachers as part of a professional team to support teaching and learning for SEN pupils within a classroom environment. Providing specialist assistance to pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning, such as those with moderate, severe, profound and multiple difficulties and/or behavioural, social, communication, sensory or physical disabilities.
The successful candidates will have experience of working with individuals or small groups of SEN students and will have knowledge of behaviour training techniques, developing and delivering learning activities for pupils with additional SEN needs. You should also have Level 3 National Qualifications, a good standard of numeracy, literacy and ICT skills and have experience of planning and developing learning activities that respond to the needs of individual students. Experience of using bespoke computerised student data recording software is desirable, but not essential as training will be given.
We are a ‘Good’ school and we have excellent facilities in a state of the art building, which is situated in a pleasant location only 30 minutes to both Croydon & Brighton, by rail or car. The school is expanding to take on additional students due to its popularity.
