Are you a youth worker or newly qualified teaching assistant looking to develop experience?
Our opportunity
This short contract role is ideal for youth workers or new teaching assistants looking to develop experience.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with teachers, the SENCo, and senior learning support staff. Your responsibilities will include supporting teaching and learning by working with individual students or small groups, under the direction of teaching staff and the SENCo.
You will participate in pre-planned learning activities as part overall teaching plan, providing essential support to both staff and students.
We are looking for a LSA who:
- Will be able to provide one-to-one, small group and in-class support for students, under the direction of the class teacher and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.
- Will be confident and empathetic working with students who have a range of support needs, which can include physical, learning, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Will have good literacy, numeracy and interpersonal skills and have experience of supporting and working with students with a range of additional learning needs.
- Has suitable experience of working in a school environment with students and possesses an understanding of the importance of safeguarding children in a school setting.
