The Academy has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join one of our three specialist provisions in our deaf and hearing impairment with higher learning needs.
Do you have a high level of deaf awareness and the vision and commitment to work in a highly inclusive school which seeks to provide students with special educational needs and disabilities to achieve their personal best and fulfil their potential.
We are looking for someone with practical experience in teaching others in a formal setting having worked in a school environment with a recognised Level 4 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification.
Learning Support - Level 2,3 or 4 British Sign Language (BSL) Signer, Fixed Term Contract until 31.08.2026. Full Time, Term Time plus 5 days, Monday to Friday, 8.20am -3.40pm, (32.5 hours per week) ( part-time considered).
Salary : SCP7 £25,583 (FTE) - SCP9 £26,409 (FTE) (depending on qualifications).
The role is responsible for learning, resilience and independence in the students they work with contributing to effective assessment, planning, monitoring and recording of pupil’s progress to the class teacher. Working in small groups we value support from our students, staff, parents and carers at home.
