What skills and experience we're looking for

Inspire and transform learning with us at Harris Academy Battersea. We are currently looking to appoint a Learning Support Coordinator to support children with SEND.

The actual salary for this role will be£28,888 - £30,177 (37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year).

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • A good undergraduate degree
  • Pass in English and Maths GCSE, or alternative
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development relevant to SEND or willingness to engage with further training
  • Knowledge and understanding of national priorities, current curriculum development and an ability to design and implement an innovate curriculum based on students' needs

As Learning Support Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the SENDCo in providing professional leadership and management to remove barriers to learning where they exist for students with SEND.
  • Providing professional guidance on SEND to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies and assuming delegated responsibilities in negotiation with the SENDCo
  • Providing academic and pastoral support to students with SEND, in particular those accessing their GCSEs and higher level courses, contributing to ensuring access to learning and enabling all learners to succeed.
  • Monitoring and support the overall progress of learners with SEND.
  • Facilitating and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • Supporting the academic progress of students with SEND through small group or 1:1 interventions.
  • Overseeing the team of TAs.
  • Supporting the SENDCo in ensuring that Academy practice is compliant with the SEND Code of Practice (2014) and other relevant statutory requirements.
