Learning Support Officer job summary

English Martyrs Catholic School & Sixth Form College are looking to recruit a Learning Support Officer. As a Learning Support Officer you will play a vital role in supporting pupils who may be facing barriers to learning, helping them to re-engage with education and the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) so they can reach their full potential. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, resilient, and committed to making a positive difference in young people’s lives.

You will work closely with individual pupils and small groups, offering tailored support to improve behaviour, attendance, confidence, and emotional wellbeing. Through mentoring, goal-setting, and consistent encouragement, you will help pupils develop the skills and mindset needed to succeed both in and beyond the classroom.

This is a rewarding and impactful role that requires empathy, patience, and strong communication skills. Your work will help unlock potential and empower pupils to overcome challenges and thrive.
