Vacancy for Level 1 Teaching Assistant

Salary: Grade 4, Point 3-5 (£24,027-£24,790 FTE)

Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

We currently have a vacancy for a passionate, creative and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our existing team. Our ideal candidate will thrive on helping students realise their potential at Stratton School, working flexibly under the direction of the Class Teacher, to enable all children to reach their potential. We would love to hear from candidates with experience or qualifications relating to autism who would stand to gain some valuable experience in assisting with our new Autism Centre of Excellence (ACE) provision on site.

  • To develop your skill set by supervising activities for small groups or 1:1, enabling all children to reach their potential.

The ideal candidate

  • Will have some existing experience or qualifications relating to autism
  • Holds a good educational background with GCSE or equivalent in English Language.
  • Understands the different ways in which children learn and can apply this to their work
  • Is skilled at developing children’s self-esteem and motivation so that they become resilient, independent learners.
  • Has excellent communication skills and is able to develop and sustain positive relationships with pupils.

Stratton is a thriving Upper School with around 1,000 students on roll.
