Level 2 Teaching Assistant job summary
As a teaching assistant working in the SEMH Enhanced Provision room, you will be supporting children with additional needs. You will support transition activities, at all stages of education, to ensure that pupils are physically, mentally and emotionally able to demonstrate resilience and thrive in the academy environment You will be responsible for providing academic support of vulnerable and other pupils to ensure that effective learning takes place across the academy in all lessons, enabling all pupils to achieve and exceed their academic, social and emotional potential
About You
The successful candidate will have experience of recent or current successful teaching assistant experience with pupils of the relevant age group as well as some experience of working with children with additional needs. We are also looking for someone who has flexibility, energy and enthusiasm with a calm and consistent approach. A willingness to learn and take on new ideas and good team working capacity.
You will also require the ability to write coherently and effectively, using expected standards in English and high expectations of what all students can achieve.
Candidates will be educated to NVQ level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience and Level 2 Qualification in English and Maths or working towards a Level 2 Qualification.
You will require motivation to work with children and young people, the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
You will also have good numeracy/literacy skills.
