Our teachers and support staff all act as exemplary role models, educating and nurturing each child enabling them to become capable, caring and confident human beings.

Pupils are supportive of each other and their positive behaviour, both in and out of lessons, is a strong feature of our school. Our pupils develop empathy and compassion alongside respect for themselves and others. We believe in high quality pastoral care and work closely with families to support pupils' emotional development, also teaching mindfulness throughout the school to develop pupils' resilience, well-being and mental health.

Heatherbrook is an inclusive school and we embrace and celebrate our diversity. We are proud that our pupil group is so diverse, with children from a range of backgrounds, including many different nationalities, a higher than average number of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities and pupils who do not speak English as their mother-tongue.
