Vacancy for Level 2 Teaching Assistant (POD)

Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 5, Points 5-7

Hours: 32.5 hours, 39 weeks

This is a role with an opportunity to make a real difference to the learning and progress of our POD pupils, working to provide one-to-one and group support or teaching. You will be adapting teaching resources, thinking of new ways to learn, being fun and creative in your approach and adaptable to students' needs. Our Teaching Assistants are highly valued in our school and you will work closely with our SEND team to provide our students with the best possible educational opportunities. An element of your duties will also include preparation of engaging teaching resources and displays.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will possess GCSE English & Maths Grade C (4/5) or above or equivalent
  • Will be an experienced TA who is flexible and able to remain calm when dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Able to inspire young people, enthusiastic and confident
  • Possess outstanding communication skills and can work well in a team
  • Can be adaptable, take on board new ideas and think on their feet
  • An understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues
  • Will demonstrate adaptability to changing priorities and good initiative
  • Experience of delivering targeted interventions
  • Be familiar with and supportive of a therapeutic approach to behaviour
  • Be experienced in working with children who can present with detrimental behaviours
