Our Level 3 Apprenticeship with PE, Health & Wellbeing focuses on promoting health and wellbeing within the primary sector. The role supports schools and other local sport infrastructure to be able to deliver Physical Education. As an apprentice learner, you will develop knowledge and understanding in developing and delivering community sport.

The role will involve a mixture of sports management operational duties, supporting with the organisation and delivery of community events, coaching and leading a range of sports classes and outreach work within local primary schools in conjunction with the School Sports Partnership offer. This will include an element of curriculum delivery.

During school holidays you will be an active facilitator of our Holiday Camps based at The Deanes school, both organising and coaching a range of popular sporting activities.

This position will entail variable working hours as you will be based at the Sports Centre. The Centre is open to the public from 4pm - 10pm and at weekends from 8am to 6pm. During term time you will be required to work 1 weekday from 8.30 am to 3. 30 pm and 1 day at the weekend. During school holidays the holiday camps operate the hours of 8am to 6pm which include an early and late club. Your actual working hours will be discussed at interview.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

- Effective Communication: Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork:Ability to work effectively as part of a team to support teaching and learning.

Your assessment will include a portfolio of evidence, practical observations and professional discussion. As a requirement of entry, you must have GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (Grade C), or above or undertake the Level 2 Functional Skills qualification as part of this apprenticeship.

Please note, as this role involves travelling between primary schools on a regular basis, a driving licence and access to transport is required.
