About the Role:
St Martin’s School is excited to welcome a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator with a specialism in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join our inclusive learning environment. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals eager to develop practical skills while gaining a robust theoretical foundation in early years education. Through this apprenticeship, you will work closely with our team to support young children’s growth and development, with a focus on creating inclusive learning experiences tailored to diverse needs.

Programme Overview:
This 18-month apprenticeship, provided through BeReady, combines online learning with real-world application. The curriculum is carefully crafted to prepare participants with the essential skills for working in early years education, with an emphasis on supporting children with SEND. Key areas of study include:

  • Curriculum Design: Developing inclusive curriculum strategies tailored to diverse learning needs.
  • Practical Applications: Hands-on training that allows apprentices to apply theoretical knowledge directly within the classroom.
  • Specialist SEND Support: Building skills to support the specific developmental needs of children with SEND.

Entry Requirements:
To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following:

  • Employer Agreement from St Martin’s School
  • Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (or commitment to achieve them before the End Point Assessment)
  • Valid and eligible residency status
  • Not currently enrolled in any other government-funded training program

St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust is made up of a group of 13 schools, of which St Martin's CE Primary School is one, who work closely together in order to ensure they provide the best education for pupils in the Liskeard Area. Teachers across the Trust share the workload by actively working together to support; subject leadership, curriculum development, planning, outdoor education and residential visits. In this way everyone feels part of the wider organisation and understand the benefits of a collaborative approach.
