Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant Opportunity – Nursery to Year 1 job summary

St Joseph & St Theresa Catholic Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, child‑centred and skilled Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting young children in an educational setting. Ideally, you will have previously worked in a Nursery, Reception or Year 1.

We are a one‑form entry Catholic primary school, educating approximately 225 children, with 20-35 pupils in our Nursery. We are proud of our warm, nurturing environment and our dedicated Early Years team, who work collectively to ensure the highest standards of care, learning and welfare for our youngest children.

The successful candidate will:

• Support and contribute positively to the Catholic ethos of the school
• Demonstrate a flexible, proactive and ‘can‑do’ attitude
• Support children’s learning through play‑based activities, working with individuals, small groups and the whole class
• Have a strong understanding of the EYFS framework or KS1 curriculum and associated Health & Safety responsibilities
• Understand safeguarding principles, confidentiality, and how to promote children’s well-being
• Work collaboratively as part of a supportive team, communicating effectively to ensure the best outcomes for every child
• Hold, or be willing to undertake, a Paediatric First Aid qualification

Post Details:

• 32.5 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks, including 5 INSET days)
