Qualifications
- Relevant Childcare and Education Qualification at level 3 (BTEC, NNEB, NVQ)
- GCSE A-C in English and Maths
- First Aid
- Food Hygiene
- Level 4 in related field
- Foundation Degree
Experience
- Experience of working with EYFS 2-5s
- Experience of working within a team
- Experience of record keeping
- Experience of working with children with additional needs
- Experience of working with children age 0-5 years
- Experience of working with families in a supportive role
- Experience of working within a multi-cultural and diverse community
- Experience of supervising students / trainees
Special knowledge
- Knowledge of key person systems
- Knowledge of Early years Foundation Stage
- Knowledge of child development
- Understanding of Child Protection policy and procedures
- Understanding of inclusion
- An understanding of wider agencies and roles eg: Strengthening Families, Special Needs Early Years, SALT etc
- Knowledge of Ofsted requirements

They will be an effective communicator with an interest and understanding in child development, the differing needs of children with complex special needs, and having a positive and celebratory approach to working with nursery and reception aged children with complex special needs.
An understanding of and commitment to the principals of Early Childhood Education, Equality of Opportunity and Safeguarding are essential, in addition to an interest in and understanding of the impact of special needs on young children and their families.
The successful candidate will hold a flexibility in their thinking, a nurturing approach with both children and families, and relish continually developing a responsive curriculum for children to experience and learn through adventure, risk and challenge. Learning in the outdoors is a key feature at Windsor!
