This is ideal for a strong classroom practitioner who;
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour or barriers to learning.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to remain calm, patient and resilient.
- A good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within education.
- A full driving licence is desirable due to the offsite provision location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support to enable the student to access learning in GCSE English and Maths.
- Deliver structured learning activities using pre-prepared resources.
- Support and reinforce key literacy and numeracy skills.
- Implement behaviour support strategies to maintain a safe and structured learning environment.
- Use de-escalation techniques where necessary to manage challenging behaviour.
- Build a positive and supportive relationship with the student.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to the SENCo and relevant staff.
- Maintain accurate records of learning, engagement and attendance.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the student while working offsite.
