Level 3 Teaching Assistant based at Highfield Littleport Academy

Level 3 Points Grade E ALT Scale: 12-15 (£25,383 – £26,409 full time equivalent)

Actual salary of £21,795 PA

Based on 32.5 hours, Term Time only plus 5 training days

Hours of work 8.30 – 4.00 Monday, 8.40 – 3.30 Tuesday - Friday

Highfield Littleport Academy is an area special school which is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. Highfield Littleport has 146 students on roll. The age range is 2 and 19 years of age and all pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans for a wide range of Special Educational Needs.

We are looking for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant on a fixed term contract to start in November 2024 or as soon as possible.

The vacancy is to be based in class supporting the teacher and delivering learning activities to individuals, groups and on occasion’s whole classes in the absence of the teacher. We are looking for someone who has a therapeutic approach to behaviour to really help our children grow, develop and prepare them for their next steps in education, work and life.

We are looking to appoint:

* A strong practitioner who is able to support of learning needs in the classroom

* A team player who can think creatively and demonstrate excellent communication skills

* An excellent practitioner with a flexible approach and recognises the importance of accessing learning opportunities outside the classroom

* An individual who has a therapeutic approach to behaviour and recognises the importance of teaching behaviour within the whole class dynamic
