About Pilgrim Pathways School
Pilgrim Pathways School is an outstanding alternative provision for 4-18 year olds, operating across four centres on two hospital sites:
- Darwin Learning Centre - education for young people (13-17) in a Tier 4 adolescent psychiatric unit.
- Beacon Learning Centre - education for young people (12-18) in a specialist eating disorders unit.
- Addenbrooke’s Hospital Education Team - education for children and young people (4-18) with physical health conditions.
- Home Treatment Team - education for students unable to attend school in the community, referred via the Home Treatment Team.
The school is currently expanding, including developing provision for the New Children’s Hospital at Addenbrooke’s and strengthening our outreach service.
We are seeking someone who:
- Is ambitious about the progress young people can make and committed to high-quality teaching.
- Has a passion for education and reintegration into school or training.
- Understands the needs of young people with mental and physical health difficulties and SEND, with experience supporting them.
- Can contribute to EHCPs, safety plans, reintegration plans, and Assess-Plan-Do-Review cycles.
- Delivers evidence-based interventions and supports transitions back into education.
- Respects the holistic nature of education and nurtures individual talents.
- Is imaginative, innovative, and keen to create inspiring learning opportunities.
- Has excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire.
- Understands mental health and associated behaviours.
- Maintains accurate electronic records in line with safeguarding, data protection, and school standards.
- Engages with outcome measures and contributes to school data systems.
- Is committed to professional development and keeping up to date with educational practice.

Pilgrim Pathways School is an OFSTED outstanding alternative provision, which encompasses 4 hospital schools. The Croft Children and Families Centre is for children and their families with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and the education team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital Education and Outreach Service work with children with physical health conditions.
