Level 3 Teaching Assistant (subject to job evaluation) - 32 Hours per week - 2 positions available

FTC asap to 31.08.2026 - Term Time Only

Working pattern Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30-4.15 and Wednesday 9.30-5.00

Grade 3 - Salary (grade point 9) £22,145 - (grade point 22) £27108 + (SEN allowance of £1,160 included).

Victoria College is a vibrant, specialist college for young people aged 19 to 25 years with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. We provide a bespoke curriculum preparing students for adulthood. The holistic approach ensures that learning is cross curricular to develop the skills required. We offer a 38-week, term-time provision which attracts students from across the City of Birmingham and the neighbouring authorities.

As an integral part of the college team, you will support the development and progression of students and assessment system. You will need to have excellent written and oral skills and can communicate/liaise with students and class teachers on a regular basis with regards to promoting their achievements.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

  • Flexibility to work across the college’s departments.
  • The ability to work using your initiative, and as part of a team.
  • Clear and effective communication with students and colleagues.
  • Have initiative and the desire to take ownership of tasks.
  • You must have a sound knowledge of supporting communication and cognition for students with high needs.
  • You must be willing to support class teams with the postural management of students with physical disabilities to promote postural development.
  • A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification AND GCSE Maths and English at Level 4 or above or recognised equivalent qualifications.
