Isebrook School is a secondary special school for over 250 awesome students. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a dedicated team who have experience of working with young people who may have severe or complex learning difficulties, social and communication learning needs and /or ASD and associated behaviours.

We are excited about developing the curriculum within our Salon. If you are passionate about hair and beauty and think you possess the skills and experience to lead our student Salon, we encourage you to apply for this unique opportunity.

Our vision is to open the salon to provide services for both our students and members of the public. We want to develop real life experiences and opportunities that support our students to be successful and develop a range of skills that will support them into adulthood.

As the Salon Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our student salon, ensuring the highest standards of service, professionalism and education. You will play a crucial role in preparing our students for adulthood by fostering essential life skills and attributes, as well as in planning lessons and developing a well-sequenced curriculum, including growing the salon’s community use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a range of salon experiences for students across the school linked to Preparation for Adulthood outcomes
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere in the school salon making it accessible for both our students and the community
  • Adopt techniques and approaches to meet the individual needs and preferences of all students
  • Maintain salon cleanliness and adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Keep accurate records of services provided
  • Engage in continuous professional development

Do you have:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience of working in a salon environment
  • Experiences of working with students with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, passion, creativity and innovation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Previous experience of working in a SEND environment would be essential; excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just as important. We welcome candidates with the suitable experience, motivation, and commitment to apply for the role.
