Librarian job summary
In this rewarding role, you will work closely with students across the school, supporting literacy initiatives, study skills, and the development of confident, independent learners. We are seeking someone who is motivated, organised, and able to build positive relationships with young people. The role is a job share for 3 days per week, working Wednesday to Friday, for 19.5 hours per week.

With roots dating back to 1844, when the Sisters of Mercy founded the original school, Trinity has grown into a vibrant and modern community educating over 1,100 students. About the Role
As our School Librarian, you will:
- Maintain a welcoming, well-organised and inspiring library space, including displays and signage.
- Manage the issuing and return of resources using our library computer system.
- Apply strong knowledge of library procedures and adapt to the specific practices of our school library.
- Support students and staff by answering enquiries in person, by phone and via email.
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement in school life and beyond.
- Provide pastoral and academic support in a caring, approachable and student-focused manner.
- Organise and maintain both print and digital resources.
- Demonstrate strong IT skills and the ability to work independently.
- Be committed to securing the best outcomes for all students.
Essential qualifications:
A minimum of five GCSEs (grade 4/C or above), including English and Maths (or equivalent). Higher-level academic qualifications are desirable.
The successful candidate will be expected to support the Catholic ethos of our school.

The Trinity Catholic School serves the children and families of the City of Nottingham and its surrounding areas. Situated in Aspley on a split site in the East of the city, we work with the parishes of St Teresas of Lisieux in Aspley, St Augustine’s in St Anns, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour in Bulwell and St Mary’s in Hyson Green. Renowned for consistently high academic outcomes, the school prides itself on excellent pastoral care and standards of behaviour whilst working to meet the school mission statement:
“This Catholic School will seek to educate the whole person, academically, morally, socially and spiritually through the example of Jesus Christ and the witness of committed capable teachers”.
Trinity has 1129 pupils including 230 in the Sixth Form. The school was inspected in October 2008 by OFSTED and judged to be Outstanding. On our last Diocesan Canonical Inspection we were judged as Outstanding (November 2014).
