Librarian job summary

You will be employed by the trust which consists of five schools led by Sidney Stringer Academy. The schools are Radford Primary Academy, Ernesford Grange Community Academy, Riverbank Academy (Special School), Sidney Stringer Primary School and Sidney Stringer Academy.

We are looking to appoint a Librarian to effectively manage and operate the school library, fostering a vibrant and supportive learning environment that promotes literacy and independent research among students and staff.

Job requirements

  • Good keyboard skills
  • A clear understanding of the vital role and purpose of a school library in supporting children’s learning and development
  • Experience of relating effectively to children or young people in a domestic or educational environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and children face-to-face, providing information, advice, and answering queries courteously and helpfully
  • Familiarity with a range of literature suitable for young people in a secondary school setting
