Librarian / Social Media Assistant

35 hours per week (to be confirmed with successful candidate)

Fixed term until 31.08.26 due to staffing requirements of the Academy.

Salary: £25230 pro rata

Actual Salary: £20411.07 based on 35 hours per week

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the academy to promote its activities through social media.
  • Open and manage the library and key times of the day.
  • Support the whole school literacy policy by conducting phonics interventions.
  • Plan and provide literacy events and activities to take place in the library.
  • Provide a rich, inclusive literary space for students and staff.
  • Keep up to date records of library stock.
  • Manage and support a team of sixth form students and other volunteers in creating an engaging library space.
  • Ensure library stock is fresh, relevant and current.
  • Oversee the library budget.
  • Work with the SEND department to deliver support for struggling readers.
