Librarian job summary

Do you have experience working in a Library and good computer skills? Do your strengths lie in data organisation?

As a Librarian, you will manage and oversee the library, supporting our staff, students and visitors by fostering a place of love for learning and reading. You will be organised and efficient in bookkeeping, digital prints and computer skills to promote the benefits of our library.

This is a temporary, part-time position working 32.5 hours per week, term-time only. The position is to cover a maternity leave and is available until until 5 April 2026. Should the maternity leave end for any reason, this position may end earlier

You Will:

  • Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
  • Strong independent, communication, organisation and ICT skills.
  • Experience of working with young people.
  • Understand both general library practices and school library practices.
  • Respond to requests face-to-face or via phone and email.
  • Care for our print and digital resources.
  • Issue and discharge of resources using the library computer system.
  • Demonstrate an ability to support students both in a pastoral and academic capacity.
  • Have a commitment for the best outcome for all students.
  • Preserve a welcoming and well-organised library, including producing displays and signs.
  • Support students with understanding and positive engagement by working thoughtfully.

The Trinity Catholic School serves the children and families of the City of Nottingham and its surrounding areas. Situated in Aspley on a split site in the East of the city, we work with the parishes of St Teresas of Lisieux in Aspley, St Augustine’s in St Anns, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour in Bulwell and St Mary’s in Hyson Green.
