What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic Library Manager who will be passionate about working within our beautiful school library, to facilitate staff and pupils in accessing the library’s resources, as well as actively promoting our whole school drive to cultivate a love of reading and literature.
Essential skills/attributes:
- have a passion and enthusiasm for children’s literature;
- a personal love of reading;
- excellent literacy skills;
- ability to cultivate positive relationships;
- be adaptive to the varying needs of staff or pupils;
- support pupils with positive mental health and well-being;
- good level of computer literacy;
- can work independently, using own initiative;
- willingness to engage in staff/personal development opportunities
Desirable qualities:
- have a good knowledge of children’s authors;
- experience of working within a library setting or with books;
- experience of working with children or young people;
- relevant training, qualifications or other transferable experience/skills
