Lunchtime Controller job summary

Great Hollands Primary School is seeking caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Lunchtime Controllers to join our dedicated team. This vital role involves supervising children - across all year groups - during the lunch break, ensuring their safety and wellbeing, and promoting positive behaviour and play. As a Lunchtime Controller, you will help create a happy and inclusive environment where children feel supported and encouraged. If you enjoy working with children and want to make a meaningful contribution to their school experience, we would love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be:

  • hard working and committed and will be able to inspire, motivate and encourage children at all levels
  • able to monitor the children's activities prior to, during and after lunch to minimise the risks to themselves or others
  • will take an active part in promoting the values of the school during the lunch hour so that social, emotional, and educational learning is promoted
  • able to ensure that the lunchtime provision offers children a variety of stimulating learning through facilitating games, clubs, and activities
  • will ensure that all accidents are recorded in the accident book and reported to the teacher/s in order that any appropriate action may be taken.
  • able to observe Health and Safety regulations relating to the school at all times, including first aid

  • Enjoys working with children
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Is reliable
  • Can show initiative and work independently as required
  • The ability to develop positive and caring relationships with children
  • Comfortable working with children of different ages and with children who may have additional complex needs
