Lunchtime Playleader
Grange Park Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic member of staff to work as a lunchtime playleader. The applicant should enjoy working as part of a dedicated team. We are looking for a reliable, thorough, conscientious and enthusiastic team player, who takes pride in their work and shows a commitment to provide a high standard of service. The role includes indoor and outdoor supervision of children in all weathers, as well as the facilitation of play at lunchtimes.
The daily working hours are:
Lunchtime: 2 hours between 11.30am - 1.45pm, (5 days a week) depending on staffing requirements with an additional 15 minute weekly meeting. There is also an option to work in our Extend Holiday club (Hours 8.30am - 6.00pm). This is our internal holiday club which is mainly for our children and is held during each school holiday at Grange Park Primary school. There are weekly themes and activities.
- Responsibilities:
To encourage play activities through supervision of groups of children ensuring their safety and wellbeing. To provide a clean, safe and pleasant environment for children to eat in.
Duties: - To supervise safe play.
- To model values of co-operation and caring to children.
- To liaise with other members of staff about what occurs during supervision time.
- To follow the Trust’s Behaviour for Learning policy
- To follow the school’s ethos in speaking with children.
- To structure and stimulate play
- To supervise children whilst they eat their meal
- To maintain the cleanliness of the dining area during the service.
- To ensure that any pupils who have had an accident or feel unwell are referred to the Welfare Officer
- To attend staff training as appropriate.
- Any other duties within the scope of this function as directed by the Headteacher.
The postholder shall ensure the duties of the post are undertaken with due regard of the School’s Health & Safety Policy and to their personal responsibilities under the provision of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all other relevant subordinate legislation.
The postholder shall carry out these duties with due regard to the School policies, procedures and priorities.
