Lunchtime Supervisor job summary

We're looking for someone who is friendly, enthusiastic and be able to build a rapport with pupils. You will be expected to be a good role model to our pupils working with them in a reliable, committed and dedicated way, showing a genuine interest in their continuing development and well-being.

The role involves working as part of a team assisting the other lunchtime staff supervising the pupils in the lunch hall and outside in the playground. The role is about supporting our pupils in continuing to develop their personal social skills.

In addition, the role includes supporting pupils in establishing and following school procedures and routines in the dining area and in the playground. We offer a friendly and supportive working environment with a commitment to the professional development of all staff.

Monday – Friday, 11.45am – 1.15pm (7.5 hours per week), Term Time only

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the dining room for lunchtime, including setting up tables
  • Supervising pupils during lunch in the dining hall, playground, or classrooms
  • Tidying up after lunch, including sweeping, cleaning, and putting away tables

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working with children
  • Has a cheerful, warm, and approachable personality and can communicate effectively with both children and adults
  • Is reliable, efficient, and flexible
  • Can work well as part of a team and is eager to learn
