MILTON PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL
VACANCY for Lunchtime Supervisor
Pay: Band A £5,211 – £5,252 Actual Salary, pay award pending (£23,473.00 - £23,657.00 FTE)
Contract/Hours: Part Time Permanent - 9.15 hours per week – 11:30am to 1:20pm, Monday to Friday
Accountable to: Lunchtime Phase Leader
Successful candidates will be keen to go the extra mile for the children of our school to support them with all aspects of day to day learning and play.To enable our pupils to make good progress they need support from staff who have sensitivity, resilience and understanding of their needs.
We are looking for individuals who are dedicated to working with children, some with special education needs and some with some challenging behaviour. Qualifications and experience are desirable but not essential; we will consider strong individuals who have worked in an educational environment and are able and willing to learn quickly ‘on the job’.
The successful candidate will benefit from high-quality, ongoing professional development and the shared expertise of our committed and talented team of staff.
We are looking for someone who will:
Essential
To demonstrate that you can work on your own initiative, be part of a team, take instruction and constructive criticism
Have energy, enthusiasm and ability to be flexible
Ability to work with children of all different ages and abilities
Be patient, punctual, reliable and trustworthy
To work within agreed policies, including child protection, behaviour management, Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities as well as adhering to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures
Maintain positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents
Be able to take lead an area of playground to promote positive play
Support children to understand the risk-benefits of their actions
Have good communication skills to work within the play team and communicate with staff
Desirable
Previous experience in a similar role
Good safeguarding knowledge
First Aid Certificate
Interest in the care, learning and development of young children
Experience with OPAL or play work
