Lunchtime Supervisor - Secondary job summary
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and reliable Lunchtime Supervisor to join our dedicated team here at Washwood Heath Academy, Secondary Phase.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Perform basic cleaning tasks to meet the health and safety standards of the academy
Work under the guidance of our teaching staff to support pupils as individuals or in groups in the outside/undercover seating eating areas, ensuring the area stays clean and tidy.
At the start of lunch, supervising the queuing areas for the external food hubs.
Occasionally, providing relief supervision of pupils in the internal lunch halls when required.
After lunch, tidying the external seating/eating areas, including supporting with litter picking.
Promote good behaviour and to be aware of the academy’s behaviour policy and systems and deal with the misbehaviour of any pupils keeping the Senior Leaders on duty informed.
Monitor designated areas ensuring that any incidents or security breaches are reported appropriately to ensure safeguarding of pupils
Provide appropriate care and support to pupils ensuring their welfare and hygiene needs are met
In the event of any injuries deal immediately with the situation referring to the Senior Leader and/or First Aider and following the academy’s policy and procedure.
Helping to guide pupils back into the school buildings at the end of lunchtime.
Treat all children as individuals and have a secure knowledge and understanding of their needs while they are within our care.
Motivate and encourage the children to participate in activities.
Understand the duties in relation to safeguarding children, reporting any concerns immediately to the DSL or Deputy DSL.
