Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant job summary
Required from September 2026
The governors of Holy Name wish to appointment a Lunchtime Supervisor to join our existing team.
We are an inclusive school where everyone is valued, respected and nurtured.
If you would like to work as part of a team assisting with the supervision and engagement of our wonderful pupils at lunchtime, as well as undertaking other general duties, then this may be the ideal opportunity for you.
The role is part-time, term time only. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 12.00pm - 1.15pm, (6.25 hours per week).
Duties include:
Escort pupils to and from the dining area, as necessary;
Help younger pupils with the proper use of cutlery, and help them cut up their food when necessary;
Supervise pupils eating food and assist pupils with the return of the used trays, cutlery and beakers, and with the cleaning of tables when lunch is finished;
Take charge of groups of children in the playground or classroom, depending on the weather;
Devise and initiate constructive play opportunities for children;
Ensure that children remain within a safe environment, and that they play safely;
Set suitable behaviour standards in line with school policy;
Attend to minor accidents sustained during the midday break, and seek appropriate assistance if necessary;
Attend to any pupil who becomes ill during the midday break, and again seek appropriate assistance;
Liaise effectively and professionally with staff, teachers and parents, as required;
Attend training, as required.
